With about 95% of the UK population having a mobile device and leading very busy lives, running out of battery power while out and about can be a real nightmare. Even if you have remembered to bring your phone charger with you, can you find somewhere to plug it in? Lots of places offer free wireless charging these days but not every phone supports wireless charging, so I was delighted when I received the Aircharge Wireless Charger Keyring Dual Adapter for review.

The Aircharge Wireless Charger Keyring Dual Adapter is a small keyring or bag attachment (or to leave in your bag or your pocket) that will turn phones or tablets (Android and Apple) that do not support wireless charging in to one. It is compatible with any Qi wireless-enabled charger and works with Micro USB enabled phones and tablets and also MFi Lightning connector enabled iPhones (i.e. iPhone 7).

It is very easy to use. It has a very short Micro USB cable that can be pulled out (could probably do with being a little bit longer) and plugs into your phone. Then you place the receiver on a wireless charger pad. That’s all there is to it – your device should now start getting a charge. If you are using an iPhone you just plug the Micro USB into the Lightning connector that is slotted into the side of the received and pull it out.

All very simple and straightforward. But it doesn’t end there. The next feature is very handy.

For use with the device is an app that monitors your battery power and then will alert when it hits the level you set so you can find somewhere to charge your phone. That’s not all, by using the phones GPS it will bring up a map with all the nearest wireless charging points, taking the hassle out of having to go looking for somewhere (there are over 5000 on the app – places like McDonald’s, Costa etc.). A really great little idea, you never need to worry about running out of battery again or rush around looking for a charging spot or plug socket.

Overall, this is a very handy little device. It is small and lightweight and the app to locate wireless charging sites is excellent. This would make the perfect gift for those that are always using their phones and worrying about their battery life. Available in Black nylon or Chrome Aluminium (silver).
